On Egypt’s shimmering North Coast, Zahra’s Community Center stands as more than a hospitality venue—it is an open-air coastal sanctuary where architecture and nature meet in harmony. Designed by Horizons: Architects & Engineers for @Morshedy Group, the project draws inspiration from Miami’s South Beach glamour, reimagined through the lens of minimalist coastal elegance.
From the moment visitors arrive, they are welcomed by a wide, flowing entrance framed in bold, curvilinear forms. The building’s pure white skin captures the sun and throws soft shadows across the plaza, while the soft cream tones blend effortlessly with the surrounding sand, sky, and sea. Every curve is deliberate, echoing the fluidity of waves and the movement of coastal breezes.
The master plan integrates a clubhouse, restaurant, pools, and islands into a single fluid experience. The clubhouse sits at the heart of the development, overlooking a vast lagoon-style lazy river that becomes the centerpiece of the view. The restaurant is nestled among high-end residences and a vibrant retail strip, offering guests both exclusivity and a connection to the community.
Landscape design plays an equally important role. Cascading greenery at varying heights creates layers of softness, offering both aesthetic appeal and natural cooling. Palm trees are strategically placed to cast playful patterns of shade across walkways and terraces, ensuring that the experience changes with the movement of the sun.
As day turns to night, Zahra transforms. The clean, minimalist lines of the architecture become a stage for carefully curated lighting, highlighting textures, pathways, and water features. This day-to-night transformation creates two distinct atmospheres—sun-soaked vibrance and evening sophistication.
Every element of Zahra’s Community Center has been designed to curate an exclusive summer sanctuary—one where bold architecture, functional planning, and immersive landscaping merge to create a destination that is as memorable as it is timeless.
